New Sponsor - Origin
VGO Chairman Bryan Death has confirmed the signing of new sponsor for the 2013 event at one of the best Vanuatu golf courses in the country. Vanuatu Gas Supplier "Origin Energy LP Gas and Appliance Supplier" Origin is a major corporate entity in the Port Vila community.

Bryan said that it was the first time that origin had been involved and thanked GM Mark Whitfield for the commitment to the event and hoped that the relationship will extend over many year in the future"

Westpac Bank signs on for 2013 VGO
Westpac Bank is the latest sponsor to confirm their participation in the 2013 event VGO.

Chairman Bryan Death said "we have not had a bank on board as a sponsor for some time so it was great to see Westpac supporting the event in 2013. Bryan thanked Senior Relationship Manager Sheng Lee and Regional Manager Pacific Islands Nations Jeff Byrne for their support and said we look forward to another great VGO in 2013.

VGO dates 2013
The organising committee of the Vanuatu Golf Open after consultation with players, Professionals and the PGA have locked in the dates 10-15th Sept for the 2013 event.

The reasons for doing this were several and included the likelihood of the weather in September being kinder. Also the dates now bring the VGO event into the week preceding the New Caledonia Open this allowing professionals playing in both to travel only once out of Australia or New Zealand for both events.

Keen amateur golfers descend on Port Vila, Vanuatu each year to enjoy Vanuatu golf at its best. The Vanuatu Golf Open gives them the opportunity to participate in a significant South Pacific golf event and join with the professionals for a week of golf and social interaction which has become legendary.

The Vanuatu Golf Open is played annually at The Port Vila Golf and Country Club, one of the best Vanuatu golf courses and the only 18 hole golf course in Port Vila. The event attracts professionals and Amateurs from many South Pacific Countries including NewZealand, Australia, Fiji, NewCaledonia and the Solomon Islands.

The VGO is now a significant event on the South Pacific Golfing calendar with the NSWPGA backing and professionals able to gain order of merit points for the PGA in Australia.
