  1. The Tournament is scheduled to be played over 72 holes stroke play for the men’s professional and amateur events and 54 holes of stroke play for the ladies event at Port Vila Golf and Country Club, Mele Road, Port Vila.

  2. The Tournament is open to any professional golfer who is a member of a recognized professional body, any amateur who holds a handicap recognized by the amateur body of their country of residence and with a maximum handicap of 25 for the Men’s Amateur event. Proof of handicap must be produced to a member of the Tournament Committee prior to teeing off in the first round. Proof of handicap is the sole responsibility of the player. PLEASE NOTE THAT PVGCC DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO GOLFLINK.

  3. The men’s professional and amateur events will consist of 18 holes play over each of 4 days on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th August 2007, while the ladies event will be over 3 days on the 9th, 10th and 11th August 2007. There will be a Senior Men’s event run in conjunction with the Tournament.

  4. In the event of a tie for each competition the Tournament Committee will determine that players in such a tie shall continue to play over such holes as the Committee shall decide in a sudden-death, hole by hole play-off until the winner is determined with the exception of the nett and seniors competitions.

  5. The Tournament shall be under the sole management and control of the Tournament Committee which will include any visiting appointee of the Australian Golf Union and any other representative appointed by the Committee.

  6. The Rules of Golf as adapted by the R & A Rules shall apply together with such local rules as are approved by the Tournament Committee.

  7. Any decision of the Tournament Committee will be final in all matters relating to the Tournament. Any protest must be made verbally to the Tournament Committee by not later than 15 minutes after the completion of play on the day of the incident, except on the final day when it must be made within 5 minutes of the conclusion of play.

  8. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to vary any condition of this event.

  9. A draw for play will be made and published. If the player arrives at their starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes after their starting time, in the absence of circumstances waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time will be 2 strokes at the first hole to be played. The penalty for lateness beyond 5 minutes is disqualification. A seeded draw will be made for the last 2 days of the men’s event and the final day, only, of the ladies event. The seeded draw will be based on the total gross scores of the prior rounds.

  10. It is prohibited for any player to ride in or on a motorized cart. Penalty: 2 strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – 4 strokes. In the event that a player presents a medical certificate to the starter at the start of each day’s play, this condition is waived.

  11. During practice or during the Tournament a player or their caddie shall not mark the course, or cause to have the course marked, to indicate, or to assist in gauging, course measurements. A player in breach of this condition shall be disqualified.

  12. Pace of play will be monitored and strictly enforced (see note 2; Rule 6-7). Penalties will be issued to individuals in groups, who by their pace contribute to such delays. Warnings may not be issued prior to the application of penalties.

  13. Practice putting at the completion of a hole is not permitted. Penalty: 2 strokes for each breach. Maximum of 4 strokes per round.

  14. Prizes in the Men’s Amateur, Senior’s and Ladies Amateur events will be restricted to 1 daily prize for each day. There will be overall nett and gross prizes in each respective competition, which will not be restricted.

  15. Entries close for the Men’s Amateur, Ladies Amateur and Senior’s competitions on Friday 3rd August at 4.30 pm local Vanuatu time. The tournament Committee reserves the right to accept late entries in special circumstances up until Tuesday 7th August at 7.30 pm local Vanuatu time. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to ensure their entry is received prior to the closing time for entries that has been stipulated.

  16. Entry fees must be paid no later then 7.30 pm on Tuesday 7th August at the registration evening. Venue TBA.

  17. The Tournament Pro-Am will be held at Port Vila Golf and Country Club at 11.00 am on Wednesday 8th August.
